Who is Grakka

My name is Grace Douglas (she/her), aka Grakka. and I am a clinical herbalist and a metalsmith. I live in Washington state on Lummi, Samish, and Nooksack territory.

The intertwining of plants and metal developed in my life about 5 years ago. I have been a practicing herbalist/farmer/gardener for about 12 years, on and off. 5 years ago, I started a metalsmith apprenticeship with Andy Gladish, of Element Fe. While plants and metal feel like a stark contrast in obvious ways, the combination of the two feel so apt in my life. I love working with my hands, making art that people enjoy. I also love helping people and supporting them to feel better in their bodies, through plants and somatic practices. Grakka Metalworks was born in October 2024. I am thrilled to announce that I have begun selling at Pike Place Market, as of February 2025, and will be at various markets around the Pacific Northwest throughout this year. I am currently making and selling knives and other functional metal art, with the hopes of expanding my blacksmith practice, and eventually offering space for folks to learn and practice this trade. I also have an active clinical herb practice, currently online, for those seeking support with their health through integrative herbal medicine.
